House Parties

What is a house party? Wikipedia says

house party in the English-speaking world is typically a type of party where medium to large groups of people gather at the residence of the party’s host. In modern usage, a house party is typically associated with teenage or young adult crowds, loud music, dancing, and the consumption of alcohol and/or recreational drugs.

We used to have house parties almost for all of our friends birthday’s. There were few parties with alcohol and few with no alcohol.

So let me first say how a party is organised step by step. When we come to know if someone of our friends birthday is nearby. It’s time to celebrate. We start with inviting everyone for the party without the knowledge of the person. We try to keep it a suspense, but I don’t think we ever succeeded in doing it under cover. Or else the concerned person himself throws a party by inviting his friends.

Inviting friends has become much easy now with Facebook events. Almost everyone uses Facebook nowadays.

The contents of the party is completely based on the person for whom the birthday is celebrated. If the person is not fine with having alcohol in the party, alcohol is omitted.

Most of the parties have a cake cutting ceremony and dinner.

Happy Birthday

When I say to my friends I had a house party yesterday night, people think something like which appears in Hollywood movies. Something like the image below.

But what really happens there is mostly boring stuff. In most of the parties, the birthday boy/girl cuts the cake first, followed by dinner  or boozing. The party is saved if there are few interesting people who makes the party interesting. If not the party is so dry and boring.

Here are few snaps from the house parties we had.
